  • Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) ~at this time still being written/edited between SHA and SHAARC.     The MOU to be published on the SHAARC website once the Document has been completed and signed.

Some points  within the MOU~

    • relationship between SHA and Sarasota Housing Authority Agency-Wide Resident Council INC as separate entities.
    • present and future sales of land or property to have a reasonable time frame of five(5) to seven(7) full workdays, excluding weekends/holidays for input in Representing all occupied residents by the Sarasota Housing Authority Agency-Wide Resident Council INC
    • contract with renewable writes ups every three (3) years as deemed needed by Sarasota Housing Authority Agency-Wide Resident Council INC
    • Easements Not included in this write up, but to have an option to be brought up at a later date
      • *Present easements-brought up to date, rewritten for all parties understanding
      • *Any/all New Easements to be at the table along with the Sarasota Housing Authority Agency-Wide Resident Council INC during and after all development talks
  • Financial Assistance with securing of Support Staff exclusive use of and chose by (SHAARC) Sarasota Housing Authority Agency-Wide Resident Council INC reflexing the fact of being a separate entity.
    • *Legal council
    • *Accounting CPA
    • *Resident Coordinator/Coach/Social Services This is being included in MOU
  • McGowin Towers and Annex
    • *Financial Assistance of updating of~
      • Computer Room updated and maintenance of all hardware.
      • Overseeing the Computer Room will be Sarasota Housing Authority Agency-Wide Resident Council INC to reflex the fact that SHAARC began, started, and pushed to have a Computer Lab for the tenants in the Towers and Annex communities
      • Landing Page of all computers within the Computer Lab to be programmed in the settings to the SHAARC.org website home page.
      • Exercise Room to be cleaned out of all SHA storage property and REOPENED for tenants’ use.
        • Overseeing the Exercise Room will be Sarasota Housing Authority Agency-Wide Resident Council INC to reflex the fact that SHAARC began, started, and pushed to have a Computer Lab for the tenants in the Towers and Annex communities.
        • *Change Machine (Residents Only)
          • Incased in-wall (where possible/Accessible 24/7)
          • Overseeing the operations of Change Machine will be Sarasota Housing Authority Agency-Wide Resident Council INC to reflex the fact that SHAARC began, started, and pushed to have a change machine for the tenants in the Towers and Annex communities
  • *Lobby Phone (used for and by Residents only)
    • Overseeing the operations of Lobby Phone will be Sarasota Housing Authority Agency-Wide Resident Council INC to reflex the fact that SHAARC began, started, and pushed to have a Phone for the tenants in the Towers and Annex communities

 

  • **Allowing residents of the Towers and Annex to have input in all phases and schedules during the redevelopment and allowing for mail to stay in place.

 

  • *Laundry Room(s) To Be in negotiations once the renovations have been finished
    • Updated, maintenance
    • Overseeing the Laundry Room(s)will be Sarasota Housing Authority Agency-Wide Resident Council INC To be included with the later negotiations once renovations are complete
  • *Other wants for Residents of the Tower / Annex communities.
    • Property Dog Park
    • Property Garden
    • Residents and Sarasota Housing Authority Agency-Wide Resident Council INC would maintain and oversee dog park and garden to reflex the fact that SHAARC began, started, and pushed to have these items for the residents as a way to have socializing and interaction among the community.

STATEMENT

Sarasota Housing Authority Agency-Wide Resident Council INC wishes to include all other properties not aforementioned to be dealt with in the same manner as the towers and annex. This would include all development of properties in and around the Orange street area and beyond within the SHA holdings (Diamond Oaks, the Courts, Bertha Mitchell, Amaryllis Park Place, King Stones, Janies Garden, Lofts on Lemon), This would include all properties owned by SHA &  SHFC in the future.

THIS IS INCLUDED IN SHAARC 5 year plan Proposal

  • *EMPOWERMENT CENTER – to serve all SHA clients/residents and the neighboring area (Newtown)
    • Ran and Operated by Sarasota Housing Authority Agency-Wide Resident Council INC with the input of partnerships
    • support staff, use of SHA residents
    • getting assistance in the guidance with planning and startup from HUD, SHA (Sarasota Housing Authority), and SHFC (Sarasota Housing Funding Corporation)
    • Financial assistance for securing building and buildout construction
    • Financial assistance with securing a 2-5 year lease of property, along with the utilities, insurances, etc needed for start-up. Including all Health, building, etc codes.
  • *to have a FULL OPERATIONAL COMMERCIAL KITCHEN
    • Assistance in securing startup of local Meals on Wheels. Summer meals for SHA kids
    • Assistance in securing ongoing Food Truck from Local Food Bank
